About Rerun
In one line:
Rerun (rerunwire.com) is a neutral public archive of the stories that keep coming back in US political news.
In a paragraph:
Rerun (rerunwire.com) keeps a record of the stories that keep coming back in US political news: claims that resurface, coverage timed to elections, amplified incidents, remarks made again and again, and promises repeated without being kept. Each story lists every rerun since 2016, with sources, and is published only once it has at least 3 reruns spread over at least 2 years. An editor reviews every rerun before it appears, and corrections are made visibly, with a dated note.
Fact sheet
As of October 25, 2026:
- 51 stories
- 626 reruns
- 584 outlets cited
- Earliest rerun: 2016
How to cite
Please call us Rerun and link to rerunwire.com. Our links are permanent, so they're safe to cite:
- A story lives at
https://rerunwire.com/s/<slug>/for good, even if it's retitled. - A single rerun is
https://rerunwire.com/s/<slug>/#<anchor>: use its "Rerun #" link on the story page.
Logos
The mark is a looping arrow around a dot. Keep clear space around it of at least half its width, and don't recolor, stretch or rotate it.
- App icon (SVG, on its dark tile)
- Mark (SVG; the dot takes the surrounding text color)
- Mark for light backgrounds and for dark backgrounds (PNG, 512 px, transparent)
The Rerun logos and screenshots of the site may be used under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), credited to Rerun. Photos on story cards belong to their credited authors, under the licenses shown on each card.
Cards
Every page has a preview card that shows its timeline of reruns, kept current as stories grow. The site card covers the whole archive, and each story has its own at /s/<slug>/card.png:
Method and neutrality
Rerun records when a story came back, not who is right about it. Each rerun cites its published sources, and an outlet rated as needing a second source can't be the only evidence for one. Story images show no people and credit their authors. An editor approves every story and rerun before it's published. More about how Rerun works.
